Money, visas, healthcare, pets, house rules. If it's not here, ask the assistant in the corner — it knows the house.

Can I live here on my VA disability?

That's the model. A 100% P&T rating pays roughly $3,900–4,300+ per month, tax-free, and the VA pays it in full no matter where in the world you live — set up international direct deposit and it lands every month. Our all-inclusive rates are set so a 100% rating covers everything with room to spare.

Do I lose my VA disability if I move abroad?

No. VA disability compensation is payable wherever you live, at the same rate. You keep your full benefit in Colombia, paid by international direct deposit.

How long can I stay without a visa?

US citizens get 90 days visa-free on arrival, extendable by another 90 — six months per calendar year with no visa at all. That matches our six-month stays exactly. Want to stay year-round? Colombia's Visa M pensioner visa requires roughly $1,000/month of income — VA disability income qualifies easily, and we walk you through the application.

What about healthcare?

The VA Foreign Medical Program covers care for your service-connected conditions in Colombia — you register, see local providers, and FMP pays for covered care. Medellín's hospitals — some of the best in Latin America — are about 2 hours away. Note: Medicare does not cover you outside the US, which is one reason FMP matters.

Where exactly is the house?

Cocorná, a quiet mountain pueblo in eastern Antioquia — waterfalls, the Río Cocorná, cool mountain air. It is intentionally NOT in Medellín: you're about 2 hours from the city's airport and hospitals, and a world away from its noise.

Is this a medical or treatment facility?

No. ColombiaLiving is a veteran residence — a home, a community, a landing pad. We don't provide medical care or clinical services of any kind. What we provide is a place to live well, with people who get it.

How do I apply? Can you vet residents?

Fastest: WhatsApp Rob at +57 311 641 5838 — he answers personally. Or fill out the application — name, service era, timeline, room preference. We talk, we check references, and we're honest about fit in both directions. A 12-room community lives or dies on who's in it, so yes, every resident is vetted.

Can I bring a pet?

Case by case — tell us about your animal in the application and we'll figure it out together.

The dining hall
One long table
Stone shower
Hand-laid stone
The steam room
The steam room
House rules, the short version: this is a home, not a barracks and not a resort. Residents are vetted (application + references), the community standard is respect, and one bad fit matters more in 12 rooms than in 200 — so we choose carefully, in both directions.
